What looks like luxury stone is anything but. In this campaign, I’ve recreated the fine marbling often seen in high-end stone advertising—but using something far more confronting: the chest X-rays of real silicosis patients. At first glance, the images appear aspirational, but a closer look reveals the truth behind the texture. Each image is composed from scarring caused by silicosis—a deadly, preventable lung disease caused by exposure to engineered stone dust. By repurposing these scans to mimic the very product that caused them, the campaign draws a stark contrast between beauty and harm. It invites viewers to pause, inspect, and reconsider what lies beneath the surface—just as they would when choosing stone for their homes.
